PSHE
PHSE
An individual’s physical, mental and social attributes affect all aspects of their lives, both as a child and as an adult. At Frizinghall Primary School, we passionately believe that the personal, social and health education (PSHE) of our children underpins all their learning and is central in preparing our children to become productive and caring citizens in today’s culturally diverse society.
At Frizinghall Primary School, we have chosen SCARF PSHE planning, which represents our values for children of Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship. This programme meets all DfE requirements for statutory Relationships and Health Education, and is mapped to the PSHE Association programmes of study
PSHE has been mapped across the school to ensure that the children have the opportunity to revisit and consolidate past learning and look forward to future learning, through common PSHE threads.

We also support our children in learning about their rights and responsibilities through the British Values. We enhance learning in PSHE through embedding quality literature into PSHE lessons, school trips, visitors and workshops and participation in national events such as Anti-Bullying Week, NSPCC Stay Safe Campaign, Hello Yellow World Mental Health, Wear Your SCARF to school day and Internet Safety Day.
Spoken language is developed during PHSE discussions throughout all key stages.
